Prof. James K. Ho is a professor of information & decision sciences in the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He graduated from Columbia University in 1970 and obtained his Ph.D from Stanford University in 1974. He has published widely in academic and professional journals and authored four books, including Cyber Tigers: How Companies in Asia can Prosper from E-Commerce (Prentice Hall/Pearson Education Asia, 2000), which has been translated into Chinese and published in September 2000 by South China Morning Post (SCMP) Book Publishing Ltd. in Hong Kong. Dr. Ho has extensive experience working with international organizations, major corporations, as well as small businesses in the application of information technology in the workplace. His executive seminars on "Competing in the Information Age: Maximizing the Payoff from Information Technology", "Internet Strategies: Beyond Web Sites and Home Pages", and "Managing E-commerce and Online Business" have been presented in USA, Canada, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Norway and Singapore. Dr. Ho teaches courses in information and operations management for BBA, MBA, MS, and Ph.D students, making extensive use of Web resources. In May and June 1997, Dr. Ho lectured in New Zealand as an Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury, University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, and the University of Waikato at Hamilton. He was the keynote speaker at the Electronic Commerce Pan-Asian Forum held in November 1997 in Singapore; at the AIA-CGA-CIMA-CMA Joint Symposium on "E-commerce: What is in it for Accounting Professionals?" in Hong Kong, February 2000, at e-China 2001 in Guangzhou; at the International Conference on e-Business, Management and Economics in Hong Kong, December 2010; and at the International Conference on Innovation, Trade and Economics in Hong Kong, June 2012. In addition, he has been featured speaker in Hong Kong at the American Chamber of Commerce, Internet Commerce Expo & Conference, Technology Exchange Forum on e-Banking and e-Financing, Senior Executive Summit on e-Business Planning, Strategies and Implementation, Internet and Information Forum, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University; in China at Internet and Information Forum, Shanghai, Peking University, Tsinghua University, International University of International Business and Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology; in Macau at University of Macau; in Singapore at Computer Society, National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technical University; in Japan at University of Tokyo, and Foundation for Multimedia Communications; in Korea at Seoul National University, and Korean Advanced Institute of Science & Technology; in Malaysia at University of Malaya; in Thailand at Thammasat Univeristy, and APEC Workshop on Strategic e-Commerce and Management; in Canada at Univeristy of Waterloo, and McMaster University; in Australia at University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Curtin University of Technology, and Murdoch University. Dr. Ho's recent research focuses on multilingual online communication, topological analysis of online auction markets, and maximum resolution dichotomy for data mining. On June 29, Dr. Ho received the Best Professor in Information Systems 2012 Global Award from the World Education Congress.

 

Susanne YP Choi (D.Phil. in Sociology, Nuffield College, University of Oxford), is Professor at the Department of Sociology and Co-director of the Gender Research Centre at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University in 2013.  Her research interests include gender, family, health, migration, and transitional justice.  She has written extensively on gender and family issues such as spousal violence, violence against female sex workers, domestic division of labour, cross-border marriages, and rural-to-urban migrant workers in Chinese societies. Her current project explores how men’s rural to urban migration shapes gender and family dynamics in China.  Her works were published in American Journal of Sociology, Journal of Marriage and Family, International Migration Review, The China Quarterly, Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Political Psychology, Violence against Women, Culture, Health and Sexuality, Journal of Family Issues, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Aids Care, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Sociology of Health and Illness, and Human Relations.

Dr YIP MUM WAI was born in Penang, Malaysia in 1973.  Dr. YIP holds a Diploma in Materials Engineering and MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. In 2008, he was awarded an Engineering Doctorate in Engineering Business Management (specialized in Knowledge Management) from Business Advanced Technology Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Dr. YIP is an Associate Dean of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College.  He is a certified Train the Trainer of PBSM Malaysia, TRIZ Practitioner with Level II certified, certified Knowledge Management Facilitator and Practitioner, Senior Member of International Association of Computer Science and Information (IACSIT), Senior Member of IEDRC and member of Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ). Dr.Yip is very keen and specialized in TRIZ, Knowledge Management (KM), Quality Management (QM), and Strategy Management (SM).  Dr. Yip has experiences in conducting professional training (in house and public programs) such as Knowledge Management (KM), Quality Management (ISO 9001, ISO 17025), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TRIZ, effective communication skills, leadership skills, team building, customer service excellence for many corporations in Malaysia.  Currently, he is an advisor for Zheng Yang Steel Works Sdn. Bhd. Dr. Yip has a lot of experience in research. His research areas include Knowledge Management. TRIZ, Strategy Management, Innovation Management and Materials Science and Engineering. He is given a grant by Ministry of Higher Learning Institution to conduct a research in the implementation of Knowledge Management (KM) in SME in Malaysia.  Besides, he has presented many papers in the field of engineering management especially in KM in many international conferences in China and Indonesia.  He is also a reviewer, editorial board member and keynote speaker for International Journals and International Conferences.
